How do you think about your New Years Resolutions? Do you set them and forget them? Or do you have active participation in reaching the idea you set as a resolution? How do you set your goals in general?

Like the Chinese Proverb says “The journey of a 1000 mile begins with 1 step”. Small changes day after day, week in and week out will make the changes. If you plan to jump from janitor to C-Suite executive in a month you may be disappointed but if you plan and take action each and every day toward your goal you will get there.
You must believe it is possible for you! If you don’t believe you can do it, have it, be it, guess what? It will never happen for you. As Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can or think you can’t you’re right”. You have to stay focused on the goal and why you want it. If the goal is someone else goal for you, you will probably fail unless it is something you really want yourself.
We all fail, it is just that simple! If you want to be a success you have to get up and keep going like, that old saying”Get knocked down 7 times, get up 8″ When you have a set back look at what happened and take the lesson or learning from the setback or failure. When we were little kids learning to walk or ride a bike we didn’t quit when we fell down we got back up and tried again, it is how we learn.
The school system knocks some of this out of us and for some people it is completely gone by the time they graduate from school. They only want a safe secure job and to fly under the radar and hope it all works out in the end. IT WON”T, if you don’t try for something better, go for your goals. If you don’t make your life better you are done, finished, kaput. So pick yourself up, dust yourself off and go again.
