Are You Really Goal Setting?People with goals succeed

Here are 3 tips that will help you with goal setting that will create goals you will achieve. Most people never set a goal and even fewer people ever write those goals down. If you set a goal, write that goal down, set a plan to achieve that goal and review that plan regularly you massively increase the probability that you will achieve that goal. Here are 3 Tips that will help you with your goal setting and actually achieving that goal.

1) Is the Goal yours or someone else’s goal for you?

A lot of people set goals that represent what someone else wants for you, instead of what you really want. This can cause resentment, lack of motivation and limiting thoughts which can derail the best-laid plans and prevent you from reaching the goals you set. When you set your goals, ask yourself is this what I really want for myself or what someone else wants for you. Its okay to do things because of someone else, but it’s important that you are honest about that and make some goals for yourself too that don’t involve other’s needs or wants.

So pick a goal the YOU want for you, your career and your life. Then the first step is to write that goal down, on paper in ink! Why? so that you have a permanent record of it. Be specific, your goal should have a date and time when it will be accomplished. ie July 1, 2018, at 3:00 pm. You should write down the size, the color, the make, and model, the location be as specific as you can about your desired goal.

2) Are You Reviewing Your Goals Often to Stay on Track?

Reviewing your goals regularly is important to your success in reaching any goal you set. Have you ever thought about a goal and then forgot about it? Maybe it scared you a little, how am I going to do that? That’s not for me or I would have to move to do that.

That goal you have written down should be reviewed at least 3 times a day, in the morning when you wake up, at lunch and just before you go to bed. Read it out loud with enthusiasm, if you want, go someplace where you are alone to do this part, maybe in your car on the way to work, or in the bathroom. It doesn’t matter where it matters that you do it.

Ensure that you look at your goal every morning and every night and note when you get off track. Does this make you uncomfortable? Great that means you have set a goal that is worthy of you.

of achieving it you become someone worth becoming”

3) Are Your Goals Focused Positively?

When writing down a goal it’s important to write them in a positive way, that makes you believe and want to reach that goal. Writing “I want to get out of debt” is focused on the negative debt, but if you write “I make all the money I need to live comfortably” is a positive goal. Another tip is writing “I will” or “I do” is more powerful than “I’ll try” in the quest to reach your goals. Think about a friend that says “I will meet you for coffee on Friday” or they say “I’ll try to meet you for coffee on Friday”, which one do you believe.

Write your goal in a positive way so that you believe it and the start making it your reality.
